Smart Fulcrum is the result of a partnership between Abigael Wangombe (a business owner and business coach), and software developer CoActiveSoft.
They realized that most service-based businesses have a common set of work and challenges. They generally have clients and staff. They generally perform work and have appointments with clients to understand/perform/deliver that work. Management of staff, scheduling, communication, and business organization are all common.
After all of those common elements are handled, then businesses can settle down to the essence of what they do. The problem is that most small and medium businesses don’t have the budget or software development experience to create a set of integrated tools to solve their specific business needs. This means that they end up working with a set of stand-alone products and manual processes to “keep it together”, which limits their ability to grow and deliver consistent value to customers.
Abigael found that she was coaching business owners through the same set of organization and management challenges before they could get to the specifics of their business. It became apparent that small and medium businesses needed a software solution that helps them manage client, customer, work, communications, scheduling, and appointments in one central place. The solution needed to support office staff as well as workers at remote or client locations.
As one coaching client complained to Abigael, “It isn’t fair that big companies can afford to build great software that gives them a competitive advantage. How can small companies compete with that?”
